href=\"https:\/\/graindesail.com\/en\/cargo-sailboat-grain-de-sail-iii\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grain de Sail cargo sailboat<\/a>, a <strong>24-meter<\/strong> aluminum-hulled demonstrator, <strong>was built in France<\/strong>, near Nantes, and has been in operation since November 2020. For Grain de Sail II, a larger <strong>52-meter<\/strong> aluminum-hulled vessel, various French and European shipyards were invited to tender. Although some shipyards did not wish to take part in our tender, several did respond, and it was the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.piriou.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Breton shipyard Piriou<\/a> that was finally selected in January 2022. Their proposal to carry out part of the work <strong>at their headquarters in Concarneau<\/strong> and the rest at their <strong>yard specialized in aluminum construction based in Ho-Chi Minh<\/strong>, Vietnam was the best suited to our needs. Lorient-based <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lorima-carbon-mast.com\/fr\/index\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LORIMA<\/a> was selected to manufacture and install the <strong>masts<\/strong>, while Breton naval architecture firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.l2onaval.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">L2Onaval<\/a> worked on the <strong>design of<\/strong> our cargo yacht.    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-24a5d9e elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"24a5d9e\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA construction project of this scale for a first-of-its-kind vessel is complex, and takes several years to organize and bring to fruition. Immense efforts and thousands of man-hours were required to solve both technical and budgetary challenges, both by our in-house teams and by various external partners from different trades. a shipyard is a major one, and is based first and foremost on <strong>precise specifications<\/strong>, a level of <strong>competence<\/strong> and <strong>quality<\/strong>, availability to <strong>deliver the vessel according to a defined schedule<\/strong>, and of course a <strong>global budget<\/strong>, as well as a shared<strong> vision between our companies<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.piriou.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Piriou&#8217;s<\/a> proposal perfectly met all these criteria, and the solution of building in Ho-Chi Minh was chosen.
